Darius Baker and John
Scofield became partners in 1981 with a cabinet making business
named Custom Kitchens & Furniture. As the demand for their product
shifted in the late 1980's to a more remodeling orientated
direction, they closed the cabinet shop and started D & J Kitchens
and Baths, Inc., specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling
projects. In 2000 Darius and John began to grow the company to what
it is today, with 13 employees which include in house
designers and field staff capable of any remodeling project. The
company focus is still on interior type projects and can
include entire house remodels. Many of D & J's clients remember the
personal service they received from Darius and John. Rest assured
this service has not changed from our growth. You will receive the
same personal service from a qualified D & J team member. Today, D
& J Kitchens and Baths has completed over 300 remodeling projects in
the Sacramento area and has received 17 Coty awards. (Contractor of

John Scofield - Partner,
met Darius Baker in 1980 at a company they were both employed by.
Since that time they developed a life long friendship. In 1982
Darius invited John to rent space in the cabinet shop that Darius
started, which subsequently led to a partnership. In 1989 they
decided to sell the cabinet shop and start a kitchen and bath
remodeling company. D & J Kitchens and Baths was conceived, and
partners Darius Baker and John Scofield committed their business
relationship. At the time the business started they were both
actively involved in the sales calls, measuring , and installation.
John took and active roll with the books, purchasing and scheduling.
As their company expanded they knew that had to divide up the duties
and responsibilities in order for them to prosper. John's focus is
now overseeing the project manager and the accounting department.
John has been an active member of the NARI association since 1995
and is also a Master Mason.
