How
To Get Started on Your D & J Kitchens & Baths Remodeling
Project:
-
Put
together pictures, notes and articles on styles and remodeling
projects that interest you.
-
Call
a family meeting and ask everyone for their wish lists and input.
This will ensure mom gets her appliance garage, dad gets an icemaker
in the refrigerator and junior gets his candy drawer!
-
Try
to establish an investment amount--how much do you want to spend on
your project?
-
Call
D & J Kitchens & Baths, Inc. to make an appointment.
916.925.2577
-
We
will come to your home to discuss your project. (Have your scrapbook of design
ideas ready!) We will present you with a packet of information (i.e.
sample contract, referrals, & insurance certificates).
-
In some
cases we can create a ballpark estimate on the spot. More involved
projects may require a scope of work and conceptual design. The
ballpark estimate is free. There is a fee for scope of work and
conceptual design.
-
All
decisions will be made and products approved by you, before we start
work.
The
Installation Process by D& J Kitchens & Baths, Inc.
-
We will schedule and estimated start
time frame based on our production schedule on the day you commit to
us. A $1,000.00 retainer is due at this time to secure your
project's start date.
-
Our
goal is to attend to your project everyday.
-
The time frame for most kitchens is
between 7-12 weeks. The time frame for bathroom remodeling prjects
is 4-8 weeks.
-
Communication is key to a successful remodeling project. All
employees have phone numbers to respond to and have e-mail with our
office staff which works great. In addition our office is staffed
8-4:30 Monday - Friday for your convenience.
Preparing
for the Installation of Your D & J Kitchens & Baths Project
-
Choose
a place in your home to set up a makeshift kitchen with a microwave.
Normally a bathroom or laundry room works well, due to the running
water.
-
Your
refrigerator will be left plugged in somewhere convenient, but out
of the way of the construction.
-
Prepare
some easily microwaveable meals and freeze them.
-
Keep
some cups, plates and utensils handy when you pack up your cabinets.
-
Paper
plates and plastic utensils are always a good idea too!
-
Don't
overlook the fact that you'll probably be eating out a lot during
the remodeling. You may want to work this into your budget!
-
Try to prepare for all of this
disruption to your daily life process by focusing on the
"prize"...Major improvement in your quality of life!
